73rd Genetics Society of Australasia Annual Conference
We are excited to announce that abstract submission and registration for GSA’s 2026 conference are now open! The conference will be held at the University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus in Brisbane from 5–8 July 2026.
Our annual conference brings the genetics community from Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia and the Asia Pacific region together to share fantastic new and innovative research in genetics, covering themes across genetics and genomic technologies, ranging from molecular and developmental genetics to agricultural and plant genetics, economics and microbial genetics, quantitative, population, evolutionary and conservation genetics, epigenetics, gene regulation, gene editing and synthetic biology, as well as genetics education and more!
Abstracts are due by Monday April 6th 2026
Early bird registration will close on Saturday May 25th, 2026
For more information see https://www.gsa2026.com
Abstract submission is generally limited to one abstract per presenter. However, as part of encouraging a community of practice in Genetics Education, we welcome an additional abstract submission to our Genetics Education session. Oral presentations at the session will be eligible for consideration for the GSA Award for Innovation in Education.
The conference is for GSA members. Not a current member of GSA? Join or renew here! In addition to conference attendance, members are eligible to apply for workshop funding, student grants, GSA Awards, and access to the GSA mailing list to distribute information to members, amongst many other benefits.
This is the preeminent meeting in our field and spans both applied and fundamental genetic research. The conference will also host a diversity of international and national speakers, with keynotes including GSA awards winners.
We look forward to seeing you in in Brisbane in July 2026!
